Men are not very present in the public dialogue on eating disorders. People also make assumptions about what people with eating disorders look like. I don’t really fit any of those physical stereotypes, and I want to help deconstruct and destigmatize the stereotypes of people with disordered eating. I would like to explore and share the intersectionality of race, class, and disease. Being Mexican–American, along with coming from poverty, has played a huge role in the development in my disordered eating.
